Abstract

This paper investigates german comparative correlative constructions or the so-called je-desto-sentence. Normally, each sentence in the construction is formally marked with the double conjunction which consists of two different connectors as well as verb position. Yet, there are some double conjunctions with two similar connectors in German like umso-umso too. According to the corpus study, the text types like (supra-)regional newspapers play an important role for the building of german double conjunctions.
