This research article presents some data and findings from a project on the topic of “German press
communication abroad – using the example of the German minority press in Central and Eastern Europe”.
The aim is to describe the media-specific language use regarding the Russo-Ukrainian War of the (only) two
German-language newspapers still regularly published in Russia by means of a data-based discourse-orientated
study. Above all, the research article focuses on the observations and findings of one step of the investigation,
namely the word-oriented analysis and its discourse lexicological findings.
