Abstract

The article is an attempt to present the results of research in the field of onomastics and a continuation of the exploration of nomenclature material in the area of religious anthroponymy. The aim of the analysis is to expand and complement the state of scientific research in the above-mentioned research area. However, the following study is the initiation of that type of sociolinguistic scientific inquiry as it concerns a previously unanalyzed research area, which are the religious names functioning in the 20th and 21st centuries in the monastic house of Congregation of Sisters Canonesses of the Holy Spirit de Saxia (CSS) in Busko-Zdrój. The exploration will therefore concern the names of the nuns from Busko-Zdrój themselves, as well as their motivation and potential connection with the baptismal name they previously used. Moreover, the study focuses on etymological inquiries in the context of their frequency of use and functioning in monastic and urban communities.
