Abstract

At the centre of this study is a fascinating phenomenon of cultural, but above all literary transfer, examined using the example of the poems of the Spiš-German author Friedrich Lám (1881–1955), which were published in the German-language regional newspaper Karpathen-Post in the first half of the 20th century. The study undertakes an interpretative analysis in the context of the theoretical concepts of the Austrian cultural historian Moritz Csáky on the term ‘Central Europe’. The Carpathian Post offers itself as a suitable field of
investigation for analysing the different paths and forms of cultural transfer in several respects.
