Abstract

As public institutions, universities play a crucial role in the life of local communities by contributing to their educational, cultural, and economic development. This paper aims to identify the key factors that are particularly influential in shaping the transformation of neo-philological education in Poland. A qualitative-quantitative analysis was conducted using the example of the Bachelor’s degree programme „German for Business and Public Communication”, which has been offered at the Faculty of Philology at Opole University
since the academic year 2024/2025. The introduction of this programme reflects the growing demand of the regional labour market for highly qualified professionals with advanced knowledge of professional German.
