Abstract

The article refers to the question about the definition of ‘demanding’ German-language literature which should be included in the canon of German studies. From this assumption, another question arises regarding the definition of the literary canon: Is there such a thing in today’s reality of university philological education? Answering these questions, the results of the research conducted in 2017–2020 as part of seminars of literary and cultural studies, oscillating around selected texts by Ricarda Huch, which were presented to the local audience interested in German culture and literature, will be taken into account.
