The quasi-urbanization of rural areas (on example of Lower Silesia)

Abstract

Article represents process quasi-urbanization on rural areas. The authors identified form of this process. This are:

 

– the change of sectoral structure of local economy,
– the change of professional activity forms of the population,
– the change of earnings sources of the rural population,
– creating quasi–urban infrastructure,
– the atrophy of agricultural production,
– the development of non-economical activity.
The authors recognized also main causes of this process. Investigations hugged Lower Silesia Region.

Authors qualified main kinds settlings on rural areas: (1) summer resort and rest-camp, (2) bedrooms villages, (3) serviced-agricultural villages, (4) industrial-serviced villages, (5) serviced-industrial-agricultural villages as well as (6) depopulated villages.
