Biblical references (fundaments) of the teaching of John Paul II in Ukraine 23–27 June 2001

Abstract

The most important themes of the teaching of John Paul II in Ukraine and his biblical fundaments were: Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life (Jn. 14:6); God is love (1 Jn. 4:16[10.14]); dignity of human person (Gn. 1:26-27); Decalogue (Ex. 20:1-18; Mt. 19:16-17); John the Baptist (Mt. 3:3 par.; Ac. 13:25; Ps. 139); to be the light of the nations (Is. 49:6); appurtenance to Christ (Jn. 3:29); unity (Jn. 17:21-23; Ep. 4:1-4); peace (1 Th. 5:23; 2 Th. 3:16); sanctity (RM. 12:10); vocation and authority of the Apostles (Jn. 20:21-23; Ac. 2:3.6.11); Mary Servant of the Lord (Lc. 1:38 Jn. 2:4-5); faith in the Jesus Christ Son of God (Mt. 16:15-16) giving bread and life (Jn. 6:58.68); love of God and neighbours (Dt. 6:5; Jn. 15:13; 12:24; 2 Co. 12:9-10); faithfulness, hope, perseverance (Rv. 2:10; 1 Co. 13:7).
