Abstract

The aim of the article is to deepen the knowledge concerning the formation of consumption of goods and services pertaining to culture and recreation among city dwellers, with an indication of the correlation between the level of this consumption and the economic, social and demographic factors that determine it. It was shown that the larger the city in which the household is based, the larger the amounts it spends on culture and recreation. The years 2006-2019 saw a relative stability regarding the expenditure of urban households with reference to these spheres of activity. The use of recreational and cultural goods and
services by city residents is influenced by many variables, including the level of education, gender and age
of people in the household, as well as disposable income.
