One ofthe most important sources of economic success ofthe city is the volume and ąuality of its human Capital. In the paper the author assumes that the bigger the number ofinhabitants and the better the parameters of human Capital, the higher is the level of economic success ofthe city and it’s dynamie. The aim of the paper is an attempt to preliminary determination of aggregates of human Capital measured by some indicators and their correlation with aggregated economic values ofthe success. These results from
standardized values ofsome indicators describe the level of economy in the dynamie period (2002-2007) of changes and development of 24 Polish cities. The scalę benefits resulting from the advantage of number of inhabitants are still the strong base ofsuccess differentiation and development dynamics of the cities in Poland. Though the values ofthe aggregated indicators ofeconomic success and ofhuman Capital indicate the domination ofbig cities and confirm this conformability with their dimension hierarchy, still the dynamie of
these indicators in the examined period differentiates the cities and has lesser connection with the number of inhabitants, and more with the internal processes, forming the changeability ofspecific characteristics of human Capital and economic potential.
