The city space influences human experience, feelings and behavior. For an effective spatial policy, it is important that the inhabitants of the city and the surrounding villages identify with it, identify and integrate with each other. The phenomenon of ties with the city occurs if the city space has certain features and elements conducive to it. In many modern small towns, markets have lost their importance and the rank of the most important public spaces. Shopping centers have become public spaces for residents of small towns and villages. In the article, the author wants to draw attention to the elements of city space and its features that increase the willingness of local communities to identify themselves with a given place or city. The author emphasizes the importance of appropriate shaping of the city's public spaces in terms of sociological, social and behavioral, in order to integrate local communities. The role of greenery in making urban public spaces more attractive and restoring their social function was especially emphasized here.
