Тhе paper deals with conception of dynamic linguistics based on the assumption that cognitive schemata play the leading role in textual activity (production and understanding of texts). Тhis model of language description aspires to converge various branches of
linguistics, namely, pragmatics and stylistics. It is argued that the typology of textual activity and texts should Ье functional-pragmatic, its parametres being those of the cognitive and modal components of text. Тhе typology offered includes the following
idealisations: actual text А cogniotype ➔ genre ➔ sub-type ➔ text-type. Тhе substantiation of cogniotype is ascertained Ьу а three-level presentation of linguistic fields. Тhе theoretical notions are exemplified through the interpretation of а text Ьу Е. Hemingway.
