Abstract

The paper presents considerations about the ways of acquisition the information, which could be useful in increasing the efficiency of city management. The main objective of the paper is the discussion of author’s idea of urban audit, which has been result of studies including legal aspects of audit, management and accounting of organizations and reflection on modern urban reality. Urban audit could be one of the best contemporary tool of city management complied context of local policy in creating of city products. Its main tasks refer to identifying and estimating the risk of the use of urban resources. The elements of urban audit norm are: local policy, urban development theories, social preferences of city users, demand for city products and statistical data.
