Area predispositions as factors of office building concentration locations in cities

Anna Bocian

Abstract

Office building concentrations in European cities were defined by many researchers as new urban structures caused by the globalization process. The significant issue of those urban structures concerns their locations in the city area. Therefore, the goal of this paper is to investigate main factors of office building concentration locations in the city. As a research method, the spatial decision paradigm was chosen. Area predispositions, one of the main elements of the paradigm, were selected to answer the research question. Several experiments were made to select main area conditions and groups of those conditions which can have a significant influence on the decision-making process. Selected office build concentrations in European cities were the research area. In each city two types of office building locations, A-center and B-center, were selected and deeply analyzed.
