Abstract

Konrad Rudnicki (1926–2013) was a professor of astronomy at Jagiellonian University and a clergyman of the Old Catholic Mariavite Church (since 1959). In his writings, he carefully separated astronomy from theology, while in life, he harmoniously combined them. In his theological works, he dealt with the problems of Divine revelation (Biblical and private). He compiled a new edition of the writings of the founder of Mariavitism, Maria Franciszka Kozłowska (Cracow edition: 1995). Rudnicki distinguished between three types of revelations: sensory, inspirational and spiritual. Spiritual revelations are the most reliable. He included the revelations of Maria Franciszka Kozłowska in this category. According to Rudnicki, each act of revelation occurred in a specific time, place and circumstance. God’s revelation is realized in universal and particular history. Rudnicki’s concept of revelation can be categorized as part of the history of salvation trend in theology.
