Jerzy Klinger (1918–1976), the outstanding Polish Orthodox theologian, was also the interesting poet. In the last, fourth volume of his Collected Works, edited by Fr. Henryk Paprocki (Kraków: Tyniec Wydawnictwo Benedyktynów 2023), includes his Polish and Russian poems. Polish poems were published for the first time, almost half a century after the author's death, which remains an unprecedented phenomenon in the history of contemporary Polish poetry. This article makes a preliminary attempt to find threads of spiritual and intellectual autobiography in them. The following parts of the article recall selected areas, topics and sources of his poetic work: childhood, silence, romanticism and classicism, travels.
