Abstract

The student scientific movement, as a system of integration
and activation of the most talented youth in scientific research, represented an area of increased concern of the socialist state authorities, who were interested in shaping the appropriate ideological and educational attitudes among the future elite of the state. The aim of the study is an attempt to specify, in a chronological and problem-oriented manner, the main areas of activity of the student scientific movement of educators in the period of the
Silesian Insurgents Higher Pedagogical College in Opole (1954–1994). The study outlines the origins and development of the student scientific movement in Poland and the conditions under which pedagogical research groups operated at the college in Opole, considering the
multidimensional impact on the scientific research, didactic and cultural-social fields, going beyond the official study programme.
