Abstract

Advent, as one of the periods of the liturgical year, is of great theological importance. This is evidenced by the wealth of liturgical texts contained in the Roman Missal, as well as by the number of pastoral proposals contained in the Directory on Popular Piety and the Liturgy. The author of the article analyzes the above-mentioned contents that are related to Advent theology. On the basis of this analysis, he takes a critical look at pastoral practice, which often does not take into account the current theological thought and repeats customs that are not only indifferent to theology, but sometimes contrary to the theological understanding of Advent
