The aim of this study is to examine the influence of social, political and economic conditions characteristic of liquid modernity on contemporary sacred architecture. A variety of creative attitudes emphasising the solution of various environmental problems, the stimulation of economic development, and the search for means of expression appropriate to the content conveyed are evident here. This also applies to sacred architecture, which is designed on the basis of new theological, liturgical, sociological and aesthetic premises, while taking into account wider contemporary phenomena such as the instability, commercialisation and ideologisation of culture. The study adopts a research method of combining the analysis of the various architectural solutions of churches with the wider cultural context. The aim of the study is to show the influence of sacred architecture on the formation of the spiritual sphere in postmodernity.
