Metafora pejzażowa Mickiewicza (w kontekście słowiańskich przekładów "Pana Tadeusza")

Teodozja Rittel

Abstrakt

The paper concerns comparative linguistics. The author deals with translations of Polish literary text („Pan Tadeusz”, book 1, verses 12-14) into Slavonic languages (Bulgarian, Bielorussian, Czech (older version), Czech (newer version), Slovak, Slovenian, Ukrainian). The analysis starts from general metaphor „Mother country’s bosom” and searches for adequate expressions in languages being compared. Translation metaphors as figurative expressions aimed by the original text concern description ofthe landscape „on the blue Neman”.It is nature that carries metaphorical meaning. The author tries to ascertain what the real translation adequacy of historical names of plants („gryka”, „dzięcielina”, świerzop”) is; what the information of colour is (when motivated by appearances of ob[1]jects or metaphorically expressed); ifthere are expressions in the analysed translations that can change the meaning which is really expressed. Landscape metaphors can be numbered among cultural metaphors where referring to cultural texts in empirical knowledge is necessary.
