Abstract

The article deals with the „Bible Czech", a specific form of Czech language on the Slovak territory, used for centuries by Slovak Lutherans mainly in a function of a divine service language, having, especially in the spoken form, some Slovak features. In the first part of the article some terminological and historical data are introduced.The important one among them is that the 20lh century can be considered the end of the official position of the „Bible Czech” in the Lutheran sphere. The last important book, Slovak Lutheran Hymnal was translated into literary Slovak and published in 1992-1993. Based on these facts the next and the main part tries to show, how some fragments in „Bible Czech” with their specific value and stylistic functions are incorporated into contemporary Slovak texts of various kinds.
