Charakteryzacja językowa Cyganów w wybranych utworach literackich

Abstract
The Gypsies linguistic stylization is a challenging artistic task. lt is not easy to collect the linguistic data because of the xenophobic barrier and not sufficient development the Gypsy Studies in Poland. The Diaspora! Gypsy community has lived in a situation of bilingualism or multilingualism on the territory of Poland using non-written dialects. Therefore, it becomes elear that writers more often stylize Gypsy utterances for dialectal Polish (sporadically also for Ukrainian) than for the Gypsy. The paper presents both mentioned techniques of stylization. If the more interesting Gypsy stylization is concemed, writers usually use selective stylization (chosen onomastic, lexical or phraseological elements) and less often the reconstructing stylization, with its special kind quotational stylization (mainly songs). Writers add different types of metalingua! frames to Gypsy elements. Additionally, they use socio-lingual glosses in narrativ structures to reflect the Gypsy's complex communicational situation.
