Ritual Speech Acts in Social Communicatio

Abstract

The paper deals with the proЫem ofthe ritual words use in speech behaviour. Тhе au[1]thor numbers the types of the ritual speech acts (RSA) and classifies them according to the communicative intensioпs ofthe speaker. RSA involved in the social sphere of com[1]munication are used for: 1) defeating aggression (greetings, introductions ), 2) defeating stress (condolences, eпcouragements), 3) defending society (assertive declarations). Socio-psychological variaпts of the meaning of ritual gestures are analysed in more de[1]tailed way. Тhе role of RSA in social communication is showп iп the paper.
