Abstract

The article deals with the investigation and description of dominant names in national culture in the context of another even а close cognate language (in this article Russian and Byelorussian language) as the least investigated proЫem of comparative stylistics. For фis purpose folk texts of corresponding cultшes, works of outstanding Russian, Byelorussian philologists and poetic texts of Russian and Byelorussian culture of the beginning the ХХ century are investigated. The contrast comparison of dominant names in the two languages reveals а national language type, promotes to comprehend "а national language spirit". It also confiпns that even closely related cultures have quite different dominant names.
