On the Theory of Art Texts Regulativity

Abstract

The theory of regulativity is regarded as one of prospective directions of communicative stylistics of text. Regulativity is defined as the ability of directing the readers’ cognitive activity using text means. Here is revealed the specific character of regulativity in art texts, are desribed ways of regulativity and different types of regulative means. Regulative structures of text (regulatives) are correlated with the hierarchy of aims within the borders of the whole purpose programme of text. The examples given here are poetic text by Marina Tsvetayeva, Boris Pasternak and others.
