The European capital of culture as a chance for changes in a city space. The case of Wrocław

Abstract

The article consists of two parts. In the ﬁ rst one the author presents the idea of the competition for the title European Capital of Culture, and also selected cities which had changed their image thanks to that title. e second part is concerned on changes which take place or which are planned in the Wrocław city space in connection with organization of the ECC in 2016
