Abstract

The aim of this article is to present the ecumenical interests of Warsaw apologetics. In the first part, the author presents the concept of comparative apologetics developed by J. Myśków. The second part is devoted to the ecumenical theology practiced by K. Hoffmann. In the third part, he presents the ecumenical thought of T. Gogolewski. The analyses conducted allow us to draw the following conclusions: J. Myśków maintained an open attitude towards the resolutions of Vatican II, attempting to incorporate the council's teachings into apologetics. To this end, he developed his own concept, drawing on W. Kwiatkowski's early research. K. Hoffmann presented the essence of Catholic ecumenical theology, the dialogue of the Catholic Church with other Churches and Christian communities, and the tasks stemming from ecumenism. He did this based on the council's teachings and the documents of the Church's Magisterium. T. Gogolewski, taking a close look at Vatican II, translated and commented on the council's documents. In his pastoral practice and scholarly reflection, he remained faithful to the Council's teachings. Engaging in ecumenical thought, he authored a translation of the Council's decree on ecumenism and explored the thought of ecumenical theologians, paying particular attention to the meaning and need for ecumenical dialogue.
