Abstract

The article presents three notices of death of Dominican nuns from Racibórz from 1740 and 1743: Franciszka Celari, Eleonora Paczynska and Józefa Zatzwilichowska. They are from the period when the Silesian convents (male and female) belonged to the Czech province of the Order of Preachers (1706–1754). They come from the collection of archival materials of the Dominican monastery in Znojmo, kept in the Moravian Provincial Archives in Brno. They provide a general picture of what the remaining, unpreserved notices that reached other monasteries in the Czech province might have looked like. The notices are a source of new information for the prosopography of the Dominican Sisters of Racibórz and make it possible to correct those already in scholarly circulation.
