Le plaisir pervers chez Genet : l’inversion sexuelle et l’histrionisme

Bilel Salem

Abstrakt

Genet approaches the theme of homosexuality and histrionism in a provocative and subversive way. One of the main characteristics of Genet’s writing is his use of gender inversion. Genet often overturned stereotypes and social conventions in his works, challenging established norms of sexuality and morality. In “Haute surveillance”, this manifests itself through the interactions between the characters, who oscillate between latent violence and hidden tenderness while “reversing the signs”. The prison itself becomes a symbol of freedom for Genet, a place where he felt comfortable and which allowed him to breathe and create.
