CODE OF ETHICS
Journal Scriptura Sacra wants to use ghostwriting barrier, so asks authors of articles to include in their studies the results of their own work in transparent and honest way, regardless if they are direct authors or if they had used help of another specialist in occupational or legal dimension. Proof of ethical attitude is information openness about persons who had contributed to the creation of the article (substantive or material input). Editing does not accept guest authorship, in which author’s input is fractional or even non-existent, but author is mention as direct author or co-author.
To avoid ghostwriting or apparent authorship, editing office remains below procedures for biblical and exegetical studies:
- Editing office requires from the author disclosure of the input of particular authors and their scientific affiliation. Author should reveal who is the author of the idea, presumptions, methods and plan used in publication. The main responsibility for full disclosure of those information lies with the author of the article.
- Editing office alerts that all cases of ghostwriting and guest authorship will be announced in public and institutions such as employers, learned societies, publishers of scientific publications and associations will be informed.
- Editing office requires from the authors declassification of funding source and the financial contribution of research institutions and scientific societies, so called transparency of financing.
- Editing office documents and archives all cases of dishonesty, especially cases concerning infracting of ethical principles that obtain in the field of theological and humanistic scientific.
AUTHOR’S DECLARATION
To avoid ghostwriting or guest authorship, editing office asks the authors to answer following questions:
- Are you the only author of the article?
- Do you except ghostwriting and guest authorship in your article?
- Are you aware of the legal and scientific consequences result from suppression of ghostwriting and guest authorship?
- Was the publication finance by research establishment or learned society?
