Abstract

Obligation to recite the liturgy of hours by permanent deacons (kan. 276 § 2 nr 3)

The aim of the article is to show the issue of the permanent deacons saying the liturgy of hours. The Code obliges permanent deacons to say part of the liturgy of the hours, as determined by the episcopal conference. The first part of the article presents the issue of shaping the obligation to celebrate the liturgy of the hours in the Church. The second part presents the liturgy of the hours of permanent deacons according to current canon law, while the third part was devoted to the complementary norms of episcopal conferences regarding the liturgy of the hours of permanent deacons. The whole article concludes with a summary and bibliography.
