Abstrakt
W niniejszym artykule autor bada opracowania kantyku Magnificat wybranych kompozytorów luterańskich XVII i 1. połowy XVIII wieku, koncentrując się na utworach do tekstu łacińskiego. W części wstępnej w sposób zwięzły przedstawia on historię rozwoju kompozycji Magnificat poprzedzających badany okres. Prezentacja ta obejmuje zarówno kompozytorów katolickich, jak i luterańskich. Następnie analizie zostają poddane kompozycje Magnificat wybranych kompozytorów luterańskich w kolejności roku urodzenia poszczególnych twórców. Należą do nich: H. Praetorius, M. Praetorius, H. Schütz, J. Pachelbel, J. Kuhnau, G. Ph. Telemann, Ch. Graupner oraz C. Ph. E. Bach. We wnioskach końcowych autor podkreśla związek na gruncie retoryki muzycznej pomiędzy badanymi kompozycjami a teologicznymi zapatrywaniami Marcina Lutra na Matkę Pana.
