Vol. 39 (2020): Studia Miejskie tom 39
The present Volume 39 of Studia Miejskie includes contributions dealing with vital
issues connected with the functioning, transformations and development of cities.
The topics discussed by their authors are varied. Accordingly, the first study addresses
interesting questions by presenting results of the authors’ research on representation
of a city which we would be happy to live in (an orderly city) and an image of residents
(orderly inhabitants) whom we would like to live around us as members of the local
community. The next research work deals with the issues of city transport and its
availability, as perceived by students of selected colleges of higher education based in
Wrocław. Likewise, an interesting problem is discussed in the succeeding contribution,
that is social media and their significance for shaping the image of cities. The next article
embarks on showing the role and importance of teleworking in creating smart cities in
the time of pandemic. In turn, the last of the articles presented in this volume offers an
assessment of current promotional actions run in Kielce as well as in municipal-rural
communes in Kielce County, along with pointing to the main problems connected with
the functioning of tourist promotion organized in them.
I believe that the volume we are now presenting our readers with will prove a source
of interesting and inspiring information in the field of cities’ functioning and development.
