Abstract

There are created various initiatives on the way of the ecumenical dialogue, at the hierarchical, scientific, local level, etc. On the one hand they are the result of the arduous discourse, prayer, meetings and on the other they show the willingness  to join the ongoing public debate and the socio-cultural changes. Because of the fact that this voice is spoken regularly and by many dialogue partners, you can notice its resonance in international, national or local space more. An example of this ecumenical understanding is the joint document of the Episcopal Conference of Germany (hereinafter the German abbreviation: DBK) and the Council of Evangelical Church in Germany (hereinafter the German abbreviation: EKD) under the meaningful title: Demokratie braucht Tugenden (Democracy needs virtues). "Rehabilitation" of virtues in the socio-political space comes out of the anthropological vision of man based mainly on his essence and not his functionality. The metaphysical-deontological view on man and his relationality strengthens the view that the virtues of justice and solidarity set the direction for the balanced development of society.
