The Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate is currently experiencing the biggest crisis since the beginning of its over 30-year activity in Ukraine. This is undoubtedly the result of the war unleashed in February 2022 by the Russian Federation, but also of the deep ties linking this particular religious organization to the center of spiritual power in Moscow. Both of these factors cause its enormous internal destabilization and lowering of moral authority in society. In addition, the loss of credibility by the indicated entity is significantly influenced by the division in the structures of hierarchical power and the use of half-measures regarding its own autonomy. The lack of a clear and coherent position on the attitude of the head of the Moscow Patriarchate, Kirill, and that Church regarding the Russian aggression against Ukraine is still echoing negatively. This whole situation has an extremely negative impact on the current activity of the Ukrainian Orthodoxy subordinated to Moscow and leads to its inevitable division. The problem of relationality within this community and the prospect of autonomy within the Kievan tradition will be the subject of the following analysis and conclusion.
